being a mother is the most amazing thing i have experienced thus far in my life... i have learned so much from my little angel and i must say they are life lessons to live by... here are the 10 things i have learned from Olie so far......

2. drink milk (almond/soy/rice)
3. when frustrated blow bubbles
4. smile often
5. don't worry about what others think, especially when you're drooling
6. smile often
7. find some one to wait on you 24/7
8. appreciate life simple things.... like the sky and trees
9. wake up when you feel like it

getting into a routine

it's been such a blessing having little Olivia in our lives, we are so blessed... We are finally getting into a routine however, we have not yet gotten Olivia to sleep in her crib and I am okay with that. I realize that life is short and I certainly don't want to rush things.... Our pediatrician said to wait until she is twelve pounds and twelve weeks before allowing her to cry it out (as far as sleeping in her crib and crying herself to sleep, as long as she is changed and fed), so next week we will give it a try...

she's good

the other day i had to talk to miss olivia and let her know since she is a month old (a big girl) mommy will not be holding her all the time, picking her up at every cry or allowing her to still sleep on mommy... she smiled, so i thought the conversation was going well and she understood that it was time for her to be a little more independent........... little did i know, she was smiling because she knew there was another sucker in the house.....

good mommy, bad habit?

we all have our philosophies on the proper care of babies.... take the pacifier for instance, i was always against giving a baby the pacifier but until you are in a rough situation, you will pull out every trick in the book to soothe a baby, baby olivia that is... i have always read that the pacifier builds up gas in a babies stomach or later in life they will need braces because it pushes their front teeth forward... well the other day grandma and i were getting ready to run a few errands, so i made sure i fed and changed miss olivia (so she was good to go). all of sudden out of no where she began crying like someone was taking the life out of her. i was confused because she didn't need to change or eat...so that quickly and easily i broke down and gave her the pacifier for my own satisfaction....

what's your take on the pacifier? leave comments!

update on no sleeping: i am definitely getting sleep because i have given into the demands of miss olivia and allowing her to sleep on my chest, but now that she is a month old (big girl) we are finally going to start training her to sleep in her crib... starting today... and so far it's not working but i am not giving up...
